Compassion Day 2008
Get ready for COMPASSION DAY 08!
Thursday 15 May 2008 (6 am to 6pm), tune into Rhema FM Wide Bay your local Christian radio station and help bring a new day for 1500 children in Haiti and neighbouring Dominican Republic.
COMPASSION
DAY is an annual event supported by 42 Christian radio stations across
Australia aimed at encouraging child sponsorship by focusing on the
needs of children in poverty.
Despite the idyllic
Caribbean setting, Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western
Hemisphere where years of political, social, economic and spiritual
turmoil have left a destitute people, struggling to survive under the
burden of poverty.
Children make up 48 per cent of
Haiti's population, and their greatest challenge is survival. On
Compassion Day 2008, we will declare a new day for the children of Haiti!

You may notice some changes to the music and program line up on the weekends! Soul to Soul is now being incorporated into the Rev It Up section on Saturday Nights, airing at 6pm instead of 4pm. Remember Me, a devotional/communion program produced by Rhema Wide Bay, goes to air 10 am each Sunday morning, and great Gospel music is now playing from 12:30 until 2pm. And for those of you who miss our Country Music Program, stay tuned, because we will be bringing you Christian Country music soon, on Sunday afternoons. Friday Favourites will be aired 12:30—1:30pm Fridays. This is an hour of selected classics. Do you find that sometimes you just can’t make it to church one Sunday? Now there is no need to miss out on spending time in praise and worship, hearing the word and taking part in communion when you can’t make it to your regular service.You can tune in to 'Remember Me', at 10:00 each Sunday morning.‘Remember Me is an exciting new venture for Rhema Wide Bay, as it is produced here at the station, and includes a short devotional message by members of our own community. Each program concludes with an invitation to take part in the Communion Table as the speaker leads, so there’s no need to feel like you’ve missed out! ‘Remember Me', 10:00am each Sunday morning: Meeting the needs of those who can’t make it to their regular church service.
