40 Songs in 40 Days: Song #8 Is this the Way?

Another song from my forth coming album Something Old Something New. Is This the Way; is a phat, phunky tune with a massive horn section and killer grooves (on the album that is...) which was recorded in Nashville TN with producer Jim Emrich. Here is an acoustic sample... Enjoy.

40 Songs in 40 Days: Song #5 is up...

Song #5 Is a song I've been doing live for quite a while but has not yet been released. It's my adaptation of Romans 8:35 "Nothing can separate you for the Love of God..." I am hoping to include it on another album I have in production call "Work in Progress" which I hope will be released later this year...

Just when i thought it was getting easy...

It has been a very long while since I have posted and I apologies to those of you who have been waiting for some new info.

Septmeber was a very busy month for me and was rounded out with a bit of a family break which we were in need of.. We had a lovely time with some friends in Corryong up near the NSW, VIC border. October I was booked for ministry almost every weekend and the begining of November took me up to Brisbane for a week of ministry....then nothing!

Just when I thought things were coming together I am heading into a real dry spell. December and January are very quiet presantly. Now I don't tell you this to grip, but mearly to observe the way in which God seems to love to stretch anyone who is willing to be stretched.

Like I've said all along, this is a real journey of faith. I don't know where it's heading or how it's going to pan out but one thing I do know, is He is in totall control and the more I relequish my hold on my destiny, the greater my opportunties to be the person I was destined to be.

What???!!! I hear you say... Let me put it another way. As I heard in a sermon this morning "Faith is a risky option." It's stepping out on the ledge and trusting that God will be there to catch you. You know just when I think I'm getting my balance and thinking yeh I can handle being out on this ledge, God takes me to a higher ledge and asks again "Do you still trust me?"

Deep inside I know the answer and know He will always be there but as the everyday commitments conspire to  force me into a more comfortable (less risky) position, I find my self asking, what do I stand to lose If don't continue to trust. How much will I miss out on in God if I try to take the circumstance back into hand?

So as we come into Christmas Mel and I continue to cling to our ledge of faith and say, no matter what He is still on the throne and "able to do more than we could ever think or imagine... "  Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to trust in faith God will provide the bookings and the means to continue serving Him, the way in which he has called us to do so.

I am hopful that I will post again before Christmas and be able to fill you in on some other information about what's been happening.... untill thenn be well and keep trusting.

Look Mum, No Safty Net!

Well we've finally done it. On Friday 31st August I officially finished working with ANZ and have stepped out completely into full time faith based music ministry (no strings attached...). And what a time to do it. September is shaping up to be the quietest month I've had in the past 6months. With no back up plan, part time work Mel and I are now completely reliant on God's provision. As my younger brother said to me on Friday, now you get to live in the miraculous!

In the lead up to this week, while God has been challenging us to remove the life-jacket, Melanie and I have seen God's miraculous provision many times and are finding the more often we are obedient to his lead and able to hand over our control of the situation, doors open, opportunities present provision is given far beyond what we could have ever thought or imagined possible.

Yes this is a scary journey but I'm learning more and more that obedience is what god seeks, not answers or a plan from me... He's got that side covered, all I have to do is trust enough to keep walking in the direction that He calls me to, he'll take the rest :)

Here goes nothing!!!

PS: If you would like me to come and speak or sing at your church / youth group or special event CALL  ME!!! Go to contact page for details. I will go anywhere (literally ANYWHERE...)
