The beginnings

In 1993, a group of Christians in the Wide Bay formed the Wide Bay Christian Broadcasters Association with the aim of eventually establishing a full-time Christian radio service. Test broadcasts began in 1994, and in 1998 the organisation obtained a temporary full-time license. Our permanant license became operative from 1 August 1999.

Rhema FM

Wide Bay Christian Broadcasters Association (WBCBA) use the trading name Rhema FM Wide Bay. WBCBA is an independent organisation, but have opted to work in association with other like minded Christian broadcasters. This allows us to share resources like broadcast material, technical expertise and improve our efficiency and professionalism.

Premises

The radio station began broadcasting from the premises of a house in 54 Torquay Road. They then moved to the premises of the Fraser Coast Home and Building Display Centre. In 2000, WBCBA moved into their present facilities at 6 Carlo Street, Pialba in November 2000. Many volunteer hours were involved in establishing these premises, and now we run from a modern office and studios.

Transmission

The radio signal is transmitted from Scrub Hill, and is co-sited with Sea FM. A 1500W transmitter was commisioned into service in November 2001. It provides excellent signal coverage in the Wide Bay area.

Mission

To establish and operate recording studios and a radio station, broadcasting the reality of life in Jesus Christ, for the Glory of God through a well-balanced blend of programs and 100% Christian Music.

Mr, Sir or just "hey you"
So many trials and triumphs over the years, it is impossible to put them into a few paragraphs isn't it? Yet the truth about God's love and power continues in our everyday lives and ministry. May our God continue to empower this ministry during these "latter days", regards, Glenn.
